many variations

Have you ever wondered why there are so many variations on exercise?

Some might think its because one is better than another .. this is true.  Some might think that variation is helpful certainly with keeping us interested and motivated...this is true.

The human body has not evolved in the last 60-70 yrs since the dawn of regimed exercise.  However the speed of which the exercise variations would make it seem so.  Well, its something like fashion or hair styles.  Exercise types and variations have changed their 'approach' and 'branding' much like these. Therefore those looking to benefit commercially can remain listened to (relevant).  Even pulling out 'old is new again' type stuff.

The reality is much different than that.  The human body responds positively to a stressor placed on it. That stressor which has a limit and force to it will help the body adapt.  This adaptation will itself make the body stronger.  Strength is function of the body's joints becoming more capable of handling a force along with the associated tendons and muscles that connect to it and control its movement. This can be called biomechanics.  Variations in exercise can create adaptation which is great. But when those variations harm your joints or are inappropriate, the stress they create is not helpful.  All exercise variations need to keep natural biomechanics in mind to be successful.
